In my twenties, I worked for several years for a fly-in fly fishing outfitting company in Alaska. I lived for months out at remote sport fishing camps in the bush and every single person and provision came in and out via small airplane, mostly on floats. The Beaver was my favorite plane. The time I spent in those planes as a passenger and the friendships I made with the pilots eventually led to me getting my airplane license. Soon after, I became an Army helicopter pilot and then I went on to work for Boeing. This painting pays homage to my early years in aviation.
